Motocaddy takes top awards in leading golf magazines

Motocaddy, the top-selling brand in the powered trolley market, has reinforced the reputation of its products further after taking top spot in both the Golf Monthly ‘Ultimate Electric Trolley Test’ and the Today’s Golfer ‘Gear Awards’ of 2011.

The best-selling trolley of last year, the Motocaddy S1 Digital, received top marks in Golf Monthly’s comprehensive test that involved eight of the biggest trolley brands on the market. Assessed by the magazine’s equipment specialists, the trolley was described as “the best all-round performer” thanks to its simple functionality, stylish appearance and value for money offered.

The simple-to-use S1 Digital, accounted for a 40% share of the UK powered trolley market during 2011 and also impressed Golf Monthly’s associate editor Jeremy Ellwood.

“I really liked the Motocaddy S1 Digital – it has very simple, easy-to-use controls and looks stylish,” he said. “You can see why Motocaddy has made big strides in only a small number of years in the golf industry.”

Meanwhile, Motocaddy’s S3 Digital model – soon to be upgraded with the introduction of the S3 PRO – was voted as the ‘Best electric trolley of the year’ by readers in Today’s Golfer’s prestigious Gear Awards. The UK’s best-selling golf magazine was full of praise for a model that also got a five-star rating in the publication’s November trolley test, picking out its “array of features and impressive styling” as key factors for its success.

In announcing the award, the magazine stated: “We get many emails through the year from golfers complaining that their electric trolley has broken down. But we’ve never received one from someone citing a broken Motocaddy, and that illustrates perfectly how good their products are.”

While the S1 Digital finished second in the same category, there were also two other significant product successes for the brand that recently announced a 66% rise in sales value for the last year. Motocaddy also took top spot in the ‘Best push/pull trolley’ category with its popular S1 Lite model and ‘Best trolley bag’ with the company’s most successful cart bag to date, the Pro-Series.

“The recent awards in Golf Monthly and Today’s Golfer highlight just how easy-to-use and reliable our trolleys are,” said Motocaddy Chairman David Wells. “We highly value the feedback we receive from our customers and we look forward to the launch of our next generation range in March.”
